World-Record Breaking Rainbow Trout Pulled From Lake Diefenbaker

Lake Diefenbaker a Place Where Fish Grow...and Grow...and Grow Some More...

World-Record Breaking Rainbow TroutLake Diefenbaker’s warm waters make it an ideal spot for swimming, boating, windsurfing and all other kinds of water-based recreational activities. And if you happen to be a rainbow trout, these warm waters are also an excellent environment in which to live and grow…and grow...and then grow some more.

Identical twins Adam and Sean Konrad of Saskatoon know this, and these avid anglers recently set out to learn just how big these fish can get.

On the evening of June 5, 2007, after a few weeks of persistence and numerous catches over 20 pounds, Adam informed his brother that he had something on the line that felt out of the ordinary. Twenty minutes later, the 26-year-olds had wrestled into their boat what may be the largest rainbow trout ever caught!

The beast, measuring 38.5 inches in length and 34 inches around, tipped the scales at a whopping 43.6 pounds. The amazing story of this a world-record breaking rainbow trout was told in great detail by Trophy Trout Guide, and even made headlines on American sports network ESPN.
