Fishing License

If you’re 16 or over, you must have a valid angling licence to fish in Saskatchewan. First Nations peoples may angle, bowfish and spearfish without a licence. However, each season there is a Free Fishing Weekend when anyone can cast their line. For the 2014/15 season, there will be two Free Fishing Weekends:

July 12 & 13, 2014
February 14 - 16, 2015

Licence fees depend on where you’re from (ie. resident of Saskatchewan, Canadian resident, or non-resident). They must be signed by the licence holder and they’re not transferable.

There are three ways to purchase a fishing licence:

1. Online through your personal computer any time;
2. Through private issuers, Ministry of Environment and select provincial park offices; or
3. By phone at 1-855-848-4773 (8am-9pm).
