Northern Pike can be found in many places, but they prefer big, slow moving rivers, or warm, weedy bays found in Saskatchewan lakes. Generally you will find small to medium sized Pike in the back of bays where there is weeds and lily pads.

As many people dont own boats, and find it hard to fish during the summer months, ice fishing is more assessable via vehicle or as simple as walking onto the ice.

The Lake Trout move into the deep water sometime after July 1st. The fish congregate in the morning and evenings at underwater reefs and shelves. The most productive method is to move from hole to hole staying no longer than 45 minutes.
